Lancaster, CA - If this sounds like a headline you might read on the cover of a tabloid at the grocery store, don't be fooled. Patti Thurman, who runs Success Center with her husband, Dean, in Lancaster, CA, sincerely believes this new AMS program did just that...saved her grandson's life.
It started when her 14-month-old grandson Wyatt became sick a few weeks ago. Patti's daughter Diana Galant' (an AMS Q-Club member) took him to the doctor and was told the child had a viral infection. For the next nine days, she returned to the doctor's office several times, but Wyatt remained sick.
At 2:00 a.m., Mother's Day morning, Diana became very concerned and decided to use the Dial-a-Doc™ card she had just received the day before. She was put in touch with a doctor in Washington, D.C., who didn't seem the least bit upset to be called at 5 a.m. (his time) Sunday morning. In fact, he spent 20 minutes with her on the phone, asking her numerous questions and listening to Wyatt's coughing and wheezing in the background.
The Dial-a-Doc™ physician thought Wyatt sounded dehydrated and could possibly have pneumonia.
He told her to take him to an urgent care facility right away, and insist they take an x-ray and check for dehydration.
Diana took the doctor's advice. The urgent care physician confirmed the Dial-a-Doc™ physician's advice and Wyatt was immediately put on a breathing treatment and given a shot to help open his lungs.
Patti said she and her daughter both believe that if they had waited to take the child to his follow-up appointment that was scheduled for three days later, he would have never made it. At the time she went to the urgent care facility, Wyatt's temperature was 103.8, and he dropped five pounds. He is now eating and drinking again and on his way to a full recovery.
"As far as we are concerned, Dial-a-Doc™ saved this baby's life! If I have to pay her Q-Club myself I'll do it just so she can keep Dial-a-Doc™," Patti said.
