John Eastman
Business Development

John has 20 years operations and business development experience in healthcare, primarily in professional publishing and consumer directed business. Most recently John has assisted Dr. Blue in the business development of the direct access testing business guiding DocTalk’s relationships with Quest Diagnostics, LabCorp, and other regional reference labs around the country. He was also on the management team for Medsite.com, where he led the design and development of clinical information products for the Medsite customer base of healthcare professionals, and he identified and acquired American Medical Communications, a clinical education company, for Medsite.

He began his publishing work operating a start-up electronic publishing venture, where he lead the design and development of the first full-text clinical CD ROM title for physicians in 1990, from a collaboration of leading medical publishers. This technology was then licensed to several STM publishers, including John Wiley & Sons, Mosby, Inc., McGraw-Hill, Wolters Kluwer, and the American Psychiatric Press, for their private label products. He later served as an advisor to these publishers in technology, data conversion and marketing of clinical electronic products. Several of his projects, including McGraw-Hill’s Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine CD ROM, continue to lead their market segments in sales.

John has served on the board the American Medical Publishers Association and holds a JD/MBA degree from Southern Methodist University. Prior to his work in the professional publishing community, he was an investment-banking associate at Dean Witter in New York City.
