Physicians will provide advice and information to consumers via telephone. They will not diagnose or treat.

Physicians can work from any location in the United States where they have a dedicated phone line (during their shifts). This can be a cellular number or a land line, but does not have to be the same number each shift. in addition, the number can be changed during a shift.

Shifts are 12 & 8 hours. There are no maximums or minimums, but the shifts are evenly split between day and night over a month's period of time. No more than two shifts in a row (e.g. 24 hours) will be permitted. priority in scheduling will be set by seniority with the group and highest number of shifts requested. as call frequency increases, we will be going to optional 8 hour shifts.

Physicians will maintain a minimal library. A computer can be helpful but not necessary.

Payment will be made for actual time talking with the consumer. It is expected that this will comprise about 90% of the scheduled shift time.

Reimbursement is based on a rate of $50 per hour talking with the consumer. payments to physicians will be made monthly. A bonus sharing plan is also present and will be based on a number of hours worked. In addition, a plan to shelter as much or as little income as desired will be optionally available.

Physicians must be licensed in at least one state. They must be board certified in a primary care area, preferably family practice or emergency medicine.
